Messages sent from Microsoft Entourage do not appear on the BlackBerry smartphone

When an email message is sent from a Microsoft® Entourage® email client served by a Microsoft® Exchange Server account associated with a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, the message does not appear on the BlackBerry® smartphone.

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.

Microsoft Entourage does not support Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) connections to Microsoft Exchange Servers, instead Microsoft Entourage uses the following protocols:

  • Microsoft Entourage uses Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) to access calendar information on the Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Microsoft Entourage uses Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for the global address list
  • Microsoft Entourage uses Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP) for email folders
  • Microsoft Entourage uses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) to send email messages
