To change the Confirm Delivery option, complete the following steps:
- From the Home screen on the BlackBerry® smartphone, click Messages.
- Display the menu and click Options.
- Click Email Settings.
- Verify that the correct message service is selected.
- Select the Confirm Delivery field and display the menu.
- Click Change Option.
- Change the setting to Yes.
- Display the menu and click Save.
To change the Confirm Read option, complete the following steps:
- From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, click Messages.
- Display the menu and click Options.
- Click Email Settings.
- Verify that the correct message service is selected.
- Select the Confirm Read field and display the menu.
- Click Change Option.
- Change the setting to Yes.
- Display the menu and click Save.
To change the Send Read Receipts option, complete the following steps:
- From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, click Messages.
- Display the menu and click Options.
- Click Email Settings.
- Verify that the correct message service is selected.
- Select the Send Read Receipts field and display the menu.
- Click Change Option.
- Change the setting to Yes or Prompt.
- Display the menu and click Save.
Note: If the Send Read Receipts option is set to Prompt, and an email message requesting a receipt is received, the BlackBerry smartphone user is given the choice to send the receipt or not send the receipt.
To change the Send Delivery Receipts option, complete the following steps:
- From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, click Messages.
- Display the menu and click Options.
- Click Email Settings.
- Verify that the correct message service is selected.
- Select the Send Delivery Receipts field and display the menu.
- Click Change Option.
- Change the setting to Yes or No.
- Display the menu and click Save.
Note: Changes to the Send Read Receipts options requires BlackBerry Device Software 5.0.

Note: Delivery notification and read receipts are not available for Short Message Service (SMS) or Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).
Note: With Gmail® (Google Mail™) integrations that support delivery confirmation, the BlackBerry smartphone no longer receives delivery confirmation email messages on the BlackBerry smartphone. Instead, the sent item shows the D tag above the sent check mark if the message is delivered, as shown in the following image:
This is an advanced feature of Gmail integrations on BlackBerry smartphones using the BlackBerry® Internet Service. The delivery confirmation email messages still arrive in the Gmail account and the messages can be viewed by logging into the Gmail account at www.gmail.com.
