Applications that were previously installed are removed after an update or switch to a BlackBerry® smartphone running BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0.

NOTE: This can happen when either updating to BlackBerry Device Software 5.0, or when using the Switch Device Wizard to switch to a new BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0.

Applications that were built for, and are running on BlackBerry Device Software 4.7, do not run correctly on BlackBerry Device Software 5.0. BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 automatically removes any applications that are not compatible with the BlackBerry smartphone.

  • The Virtual Preload icon on the BlackBerry smartphone
  • Application Center
  • BlackBerry® App World™ Storefront
