- BlackBerry Device Software 7.1 and earlier
The BlackBerry smartphone stops responding and the following error message appears:
One or more .cod files on the BlackBerry smartphone may be corrupted. During boot-up these files are checked for integrity and if problems are found, the JVM 102 error message is generated.
Complete the following:
- Ensure the smartphone is running the latest version of BlackBerry Device Software (see KB16068).
- If the smartphone is already running the latest version of BlackBerry Device Software, perform a hard reset by removing the battery from the smartphone and reinserting it (see KB02141).
- If the issue persists, reload the BlackBerry Device Software (see KB10144).
