When the synchronization process fails, you must determine what organizer application was being processed at the time of failure. Something within that application caused the synchronization to not complete. In order to isolate the application, complete the following steps:
BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5 to 5.0.1
- Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to your computer.
- Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Click the Synchronize icon.
- Underneath Configure, in the left column, click the Synchronization button.
- Click the Synchronization button on the right side.
- Clear all of the synchronization application check boxes except for one. Click OK on the setup window.
- Go back to the Synchronize tab and perform a synchronization.
If the synchronization process completes, go through steps 1 through 4 and select a different synchronization application to determine which one is unable to complete.
BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0
- Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to your computer.
- Open the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
- Click Organizer on the left side of the screen.
- Clear all of the organizer data check boxes except for one and click Sync.
If the synchronization process completes, go through steps 3 and 4 and select a different organizer data check box to determine which one is unable to complete.
Note: The only way to debug Intellisync® translation errors is to examine the debug-level data provided in the synchronization logs. To create synchronization logs, you must enable advanced logging. For more information about this, see KB01451.
