How to hide or unhide sent messages on a BlackBerry smartphone

The BlackBerry® smartphone has the ability to hide all sent messages within the message list. This feature can be enabled or disabled by performing the steps listed below.

BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 to 5.0:

  1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Messages.
  2. Press the Menu key, scroll to and click Options.
  3. Click General Options on the Messages Options menu.
  4. Next to the Hide Sent Messages option, toggle the default setting of No to Yes by clicking on the drop down box.
  5. Once the change is made, launch the Menu and select Save.  

Note: To view sent messages on the BlackBerry smartphone, follow steps 1 through 4, above, and select No in Step 5.

BlackBerry Device Software 6.0:

  1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, select the Messages application.
  2. Press the Menu key and scroll to Options.
  3. Select Message Display and Actions.
  4. Select the check box next to Hide Sent Messages.
  5. Once the change is made, launch the Menu and select Save.

Note: To view sent messages on the BlackBerry smartphone, follow steps 1 through 4, above, and uncheck the box in Step 4.
