Enable and disable wireless organizer data synchronization for BlackBerry smartphones activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server

• BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 4.0 to 5.0 SP3
• BlackBerry® Device Software 4.0 to 7.1

BlackBerry Enterprise Server supports synchronization of organizer data such as tasks, memos, contacts, and calendar. When wireless organizer data synchronization is enabled, organizer data is automatically synchronized over the wireless network.

To enable or disable wireless organizer data synchronization, complete the following steps for the appropriate device software version:

For BlackBerry® Device Software 6.0 to 7.1:

Contacts:

1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Contacts.
2. Press the Menu key, and then click Options.
3. Click on Desktop or the email address listed under Contact Lists.
4. Next to Wireless Synchronization place a check in the box to enable wireless synchronization, remove the check to disable wireless synchronization.
5. Press the Escape button.
6. Press the Menu key and click Save.
7. Repeat these steps for the remaining contact lists

Calendar:

1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Calendar.
2. Press the Menu key, and then click Options.
3. Click on Desktop or the email address listed under Accounts.
4. Next to Wireless Synchronization place a check in the box to enable wireless synchronization, remove the check to disable wireless synchronization.
5. Press the Escape button.
6. Press the Menu key and click Save.
7. Repeat these steps for the remaining calendars

Memos and Tasks:

1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click MemoPad / Tasks.
2. Press the Menu key, and then click Options.
3. Next to Wireless Synchronization place a check in the box to enable wireless synchronization, remove the check to disable wireless synchronization.
4. Press the Escape button.
5. Press the Menu key and click Save.

For BlackBerry® Device Software 4.0 to 5.0:

Address Book:

1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Address Book.
2. Press the Menu key, and then click Options.
3. Click on Desktop or the email address under Address Books.
4. In the Wireless Synchronization field, select Yes to turn on wireless organizer data synchronization or No to turn it off.
5. Press the Escape button.
6. Click Save.
7. Repeat these steps for the remaining address books.

Calendar:

1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Calendar.
2. Press the Menu key, and then click Options.
3. Click on Desktop or the email address listed under Calendars.
4. In the Wireless Synchronization field, select Yes to turn on wireless organizer data synchronization or No to turn it off.
5. Press the Escape button.
6. Click Save.
7. Repeat these steps for the remaining calendar.

Memos and Tasks:

1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click MemoPad / Tasks.
