CollapseAdditional Information

After turning on the Enterprise Service Policy, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server still permits connections from BlackBerry smartphones previously added to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, but prevents connections from newly-added BlackBerry smartphones by default.

Notes:

  • By default, all current PINs, models, and manufacturers are pre-loaded into the specified fields. If left this way, the PIN of a new BlackBerry smartphone will need to be added prior to performing the Enterprise Activation.
  • If after enabling the Enterprise Service Policy it is subsequently changed to become more restrictive by specifying a reduced list of PINs, models or manufacturers; existing users that do not meet these rules will have their PIN reset to 0 and their BlackBerry smartphone will be excluded from the service.
  • The Enterprise Service Policy also applies to devices with BlackBerry Connect software and devices with BlackBerry Built-In software.
  • If a BlackBerry smartphone model is not allowed but the PIN for that model is allowed, then the device can be Enterprise Activated and will function normally.

More information about the Enterprise Service Policy can be found in KB04861.
