When an email account is associated with a BlackBerry Internet Service account, new email messages are retrieved from the associated account every 15 minutes and delivered to the BlackBerry smartphone. If more frequent email message delivery is required, a forwarding rule may be used.

The forwarding rule must be set from within the source email account (the account from which email messages will be forwarded). Consult with the administrator of the source email account to determine if forwarding is supported.

The target of the forwarding rule should be the BlackBerry email address (for example <user_name>@<domain> Upon configuration of the forwarding rule, if the third-party email account is still associated into the BlackBerry Internet Service account, it should be removed to prevent duplicates from appearing on the BlackBerry smartphone.

To remove an associated email account from the BlackBerry Internet Service account, complete the following steps:

  1. Log into the BlackBerry Internet Service account.
  2. Click the Delete icon to the right of the account to be deleted.
