BlackBerry smartphone users are unable to upgrade the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader software if the BlackBerry Smartphone is connected to BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

If the BlackBerry smartphone  is already connected to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager , it is unable to detect the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader.

CollapseResolution

To upgrade the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader software, complete the following steps:

  1. Connect the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader to BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. Run the Application Loader tool.
  3. If BlackBerry Desktop Manager is already connected to a BlackBerry smartphone, BlackBerry Desktop Manager will be unable to detect the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader. Disconnect the BlackBerry smartphone and upgrade the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader software.
