Configure a VPN profile on the BlackBerry smartphone

A virtual private network (VPN) profile contains the user account information required to log in to a VPN.

Note: To be valid, the VPN profile created on the BlackBerry® smartphone must match the VPN profile created on the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server.

To create a VPN profile on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Home screen, click Options.
  2. Click Security Options, then click Advanced Security Options.
  3. Click VPN.
  4. From the VPN Profiles menu, click New.
  5. Click the VPN vendor type.
  6. Type a name for the VPN profile and specify the required VPN credentials.
  7. Open the menu and click Save.

Note: Contact the system administrator for more information regarding VPN credentials.

Once the VPN profile has been saved, it needs to be associated to a saved Wi-Fi profile.

  1. From the Home screen, click Options.
  2. Select Networks and Connections.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Network.
  4. Select Saved Wi-Fi Networks.
  5. Select the desired Wi-Fi profile from the list.
  6. At the bottom of the Edit Saved Network screen select the VPN profile created in the steps above.
  7. Select Save.
