CollapseOverview

To look at some communication issues between the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy and the IBM® Lotus® Connections server, the default logging level may need to be increased. To increase the default logging level, complete the following steps:

  1. Log on to the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy console with a web-browser by browsing to the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy console web address. (For example, https://<hostname>:22443/snapconsole)
  2. Expand Logging Management.
  3. Click System Logging.
  4. Find the system logger that you want to change the log level, and change the level to one of the following values: debug, info, warn, error, or fatal as shown in the image below. See the table below for what each logger provides logging details on.

  5. Click the Submit Changes button.
  6. Restart the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy service from the Administrative Tools within Windows®.
CollapseAdditional Information

Logger levels can be increased for the following loggers:

Logger name Description
net.rim Logs all the information that the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy makes available, based on the log level
org.springframework Logs all the information that the Spring software library makes available, based on the log level
org.apache.abdera Logs all the information that the Apache Abdera™ software library makes available, based on the log level
org.apache.cxf Logs all the information that the Apache CXF™ software library makes available, based on the log level
org.apache.commons.httpclient Logs all the information that the Apache Abdera client makes available, based on the log level

Note: To enable debug logging for the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy server, all loggers should be set to a value of debug instead of trying to determine the appropriate one.

See the Configuring system logging section in the BlackBerry Social Networking Application Proxy - Installation and Configuration Guide for more information on other items that can be logged.
