An error message indicates that the default profile could not be found when you try to configure the synchronization settings in BlackBerry Desktop Manager

When you select Microsoft Outlook in the synchronization configuration wizard of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, an error message states that a default profile could not be found.
The computer has a installation of Microsoft Outlook that has not been configured.
To configure Microsoft Outlook to use a default profile, complete the following steps.
  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Follow the prompts on the screen to set up a default profile and to associate it with the appropriate mailbox.
  3. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
  4. Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  5. Click Synchronization.
  6. In the left pane, click Synchronize.
  7. In the right pane, click the Synchronize button.
  8. Select the application that you want to configure, such as Calendar, Address Book, MemoPad and Tasks.
  9. When prompted to select a desktop application, select Microsoft Outlook and click Next.
  10. Follow the prompts on the screen and select the appropriate options.
