BlackBerry smartphone shows "IP address no longer valid" when attempting to restore WiFi connectivity

After switching off the data services on the BlackBerry® smartphone and leaving the Wi-Fi® in a connectivity state, bring the device to a out of coverage wireless range. Attempt to re-enter Wi-Fi coverage and turn the data services back on. In the Wi-Fi diagnostic screen an error is produced showing "IP Address is no longer valid".

This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. A resolution is currently unavailable.

In order to workaround this behavior, please follow through the steps below to turn the mobile network back on.

Navigate to Manage Connections -> place a check on Mobile Network
