ResetToFactory is a command of Loader.exe and it wipes the data and deletes any IT policies present on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Performing the ResetToFactory process is accomplished by the following actions:
- On the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, open a command prompt.
- Type the following command:
- For Windows 32-bit
cd C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\BAS\etc\device\loader
- For Windows 64-bit
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\BAS\etc\device\loader
- Run the Loader.exe /resettofactory command.
Note: The above path is the default install location for Loader.exe and may differ depending on the installation path chosen by the Administrator.
For BlackBerry Desktop Manager installations on workstations, the typical location for the Loader.exe file is located here:
Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
For more information on other methods that can be used for performing the resettofactory commands, see KB18998.
