Files on a media card in a BlackBerry® smartphone that are encrypted are given a .REM file extension. To decrypt these files, the media card must be in a smartphone or the files must be copied off the media card using Roxio® Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones.

BlackBerry Smartphones running 5.0

Upgrade the BlackBerry device software to 5.0.0.786 (bundle 1326) or above.

BlackBerry Smartphones running 6.0

Upgrade the BlackBerry device software to 6.0.0.80 (bundle 167) or above.
