How to complete the BlackBerry App World Storefront setup.

The BlackBerry App World™ storefront gives you access to BlackBerry App World applications as well as the ability to create a BlackBerry® ID and log in to load applications directly to the BlackBerry smartphone.

Also, the BlackBerry App World storefront and BlackBerry ID account creation can be viewed in the following languages:

  • English
  • French
  • Italian
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese

To select a language, click the language drop-down list at the upper right area of the storefront.



To create a BlackBerry ID, complete the following steps:

Note: We recommend using an email address that can be accessed through a desktop browser to keep record of your account notification emails.

  1. Click the Register link in the upper right area of the page.
  2. Click I Agree to accept the BlackBerry ID license agreement.
  3. Complete the BlackBerry ID sign-up information page and click Save.
  4. A prompt will be displayed that the BlackBerry ID has been successfully created. Click OK to continue.

    This will then start the BlackBerry App World setup process. The following 3 steps will need to be completed before proceeding:

    1. Install the BlackBerry App World Browser Plug-in.
    2. Connect your smartphone. ( Note: The smartphone requires an active data connection to complete this step.)
    3. Update BlackBerry App World on the smartphone if not at the currently released version.
  5. Once these steps have been completed, click Next to continue.
  6. Click I Agree to accept the BlackBerry App World license agreement. If a PayPal® account was used in previous versions of BlackBerry App World to make purchases, select the option Yes, I have paid for items using PayPal. If no previous purchases were made in BlackBerry App World, select No, I have not paid for items. Then click Next to continue.
    1. If the option of Yes was selected, click the Pay with PayPal button on the next page.
      • Enter in the PayPal account and password used for the previous purchases and click Login to verify the account information
      • A prompt will then advise that a pre-authorized payment service has been setup for future purchases. Click the link to return to Research In Motion. ( Note: Nothing is billed against the PayPal account — this is a notification only to confirm authorization for future purchases.)
    2. If the option of No was selected, select a payment type from the Payment Options screen and click Next. Depending on the type of payment option you selected, fill in the required information.
  7. Once the setup process has been completed, it will return to the BlackBerry App World Featured Items page.
  8. Once you are returned to the BlackBerry App World Featured Items page, we suggest you to sign out then sign in to BlackBerry App World while on you computer. 
  9. If successful, you will then be ready to sign into BlackBerry App World from your BlackBerry Smartphone.  Please refer to KB24062 on How to Create a BlackBerry ID
