CollapseOverview

When attempting to pair your BlackBerry® smartphone to your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet you may receive the following error: 'Barcode Pairing Failure - The barcode does not appear to be a BlackBerry® Bridge barcode.'

CollapseCause
If you are using the BlackBerry smartphone to scan the barcode on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, it is possible that you are scanning the barcode that redirects you to the installation location of BlackBerry Bridge and not a BlackBerry Bridge pairing barcode. The installation screen and barcode appears before the pairing barcode screen.
CollapseResolution
Confirm that you are indeed on the screen titled 'BlackBerry Bridge Installation' when you scanned the barcode and received this error, and then touch the Continue button on the bottom of the screen to proceed to the 'Pair your BlackBerry Smartphone' screen on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
CollapseAdditional Information
If you are unable to complete pairing using the barcode, you can also try connecting using 'Manual Pairing'. To perform a manual pairing operation, touch the 'Manual Pairing' button on the BlackBerry PlayBook first and then select 'Try Manual Setup' from BlackBerry Bridge on the BlackBerry smartphone.
