BlackBerry App World icon is missing after upgrading BlackBerry App World application

After upgrading the BlackBerry® App World™ application on BlackBerry® smartphones running 4.7.1.x or below, the BlackBerry® App World™ may be missing. This is specific to device software 4.1.7.x and below.

BlackBerry® App World™ 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 code-lines will not work on BlackBerry® device software 4.6.x or 4.7.x due to changed API's and the way that the cod files are designed for newer versions of the BlackBerry App World™ application.  As a result, when attempting to upgrade to either of these code-lines on a 4.6 or 4.7 device, the BlackBerry® App World™ icon will disappear.

This issue is now fixed with version: BlackBerry® App World™ 2.1.2.19.

Upgrade to 5.0 BlackBerry® smartphone software. Please visit your carrier website to availability.
