CollapseOverview
BlackBerry® MVS 5.1 SP1 supports automatic cellular fallback capability when MVS services are not available to the BlackBerry MVS-enabled smartphone. This is configured in the user's settings from the MVS Console and wirelessly provisioned to the MVS Client.
CollapseCause

Automatic cellular fallback may fail due to any one the following reasons:

  1. BlackBerry MVS Only Calling is enabled on the user's Class of Service
  2. The setting
  3. Changes to the user settings to allow cellular fallback was made while the device was outside data coverage and has never connected to data service since.
  4. The previous BlackBerry MVS call attempt did not complete and the BlackBerry MVS client is still on a state of cleaning up the call.
CollapseResolution

Cause 1: BlackBerry MVS Only Calling is enabled on the user's Class of Service

Resolution 1: Assign a Class of Service that does not have BlackBerry MVS Only Calling enabled.

Cause 2: The setting

Resolution 2: Set the option When the BlackBerry MVS Line is unavailable use the Mobile Line to either Ask or Always.

Cause 3: Device was outside data coverage and has never connected to data service since the changes to the user's settings to allow cellular fallback was made.

Resolution 3: Move in to an area with data coverage to allow provisioning updates to the device.

Cause 4: The previous BlackBerry MVS call attempt did not complete and the BlackBerry MVS client is still cleaning up the call.

Resolution 4: This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. A resolution is currently unavailable.
