"Error ID 12000" is encountered when attempting to complete a purchase on a BlackBerry device

When attempting to complete a purchase or when adding the credit card details on a BlackBerry® device, the following error is observed:

There is a problem with your credit card authorization. (Error Id: 12000)

The type of credit card and currency being used is not currently supported.

Use an alternate source of payment to associate to the BlackBerry device. For more information on supported payment types, see KB25368.


To use an American Express card that is setup with a currency other than USD to make purchases, a PayPal account can be used as the payment method on the BlackBerry devices. Within the PayPal account, the American Express card can be added as the primary payment source.
