Unable to install Wi-Fi music sync on a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry® 7.1. This issue is affecting BlackBerry® Desktop Software on both Mac and PC.
This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. A resolution is currently unavailable.

Complete the following steps if you are using a Mac computer:

1. Navigate to /Applications

2. Right click the file BlackBerry Desktop Software.app and select Show Package contents

3. Navigate to Contents/Resources/wmsDeviceApp

4. Edit the file net_rim_bb_bbvegas.alx

5. Change the line <fileset Java="1.0" _appsVersion="[6.0.0,7.1.0]"> to <fileset Java="1.0" _appsVersion="[6.0.0,8.0.0]">

Note: If the BlackBerry Desktop Software has already been used to install WMS on a BB device the modification will also need to be made to the file located at:

/Users/userid/Library/Application Support/BlackBerryDesktop/Device Applications/Local Applications/ net_rim_bb_bbvegas.alx

Complete the following steps if you are using a PC computer:

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Applications\MediaSyncMobile\

2. Edit the file net_rim_bb_bbvegas.alx

3. Change the line <fileset Java="1.0" _appsVersion="[6.0.0,7.1.0]"> to <fileset Java="1.0" _appsVersion="[6.0.0,8.0.0]">.
