Subfolders are not displayed in the Playbook mail application

Article ID: KB30231

Type: Support Content

Last Modified: 03-07-2012

Product(s) Affected:

  • BlackBerry PlayBook tablets
  • BlackBerry® PlayBook™ OS 2.0
  • DT 3134266

After adding an email account to the BlackBerry® PlayBook™, only the default mailbox folders (Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Outbox) are displayed in the mail application for that specific account while none of the subfolders are listed.

Currently, email accounts that utilize IMAP as the connection protocol will not have access to subfolders or Sent/Draft folders (e.g. Yahoo mail).

Contact your mail provider for more information on what type of mail protocol they utilize (IMAP, POP, ActiveSync).

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
CollapseAdditional Information

When saving an incomplete email on the BlackBerry PlayBook, the draft of the message will appear in the Draft folder locally on the Playbook but will not be synchronized back to the mail sources Draft folder.
