BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows does not allow the user to restore the .bbb backup files that were created using the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac.
This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. A resolution is currently unavailable.
To restore the .bbb backup files that were created using the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, use one of the following options:
Option 1: Restore the backup file using Desktop Software for Mac.
Option 2: If an .ipd file is present in the backup then restore the .ipd file following these steps:
- Make a copy of the .bbb file and rename it to .zip.
- Extract the contents of the .zip file.
- If a .ipd file is present, use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore the .ipd file to the device.
