When attempting to update or download the BlackBerry App World™ storefront or BlackBerry® Messenger via the BlackBerry Browser the following error is displayed.

Sorry, your session has expired. Please close all of your browser windows and then return to the welcome page to start again.

The issue is caused by the Accept Cookies option being disabled in the BlackBerry Browser options.

In order to resolve this issue please complete the following steps on the BlackBerry® smartphone.
  • Open the BlackBerry Browser.
  • Press the BlackBerry (menu) key.
  • Select Options.
  • Under Privacy and Security, check the box next to the option to Accept Cookies.
  • Press the BlackBerry (menu) key.
  • Select Save.
