- BlackBerry 7
In order for a recent contact to expire from the list it will need to match the following criteria:
- If the last time the contact was used (sent or received a message with this contact) exceeds 30 days.
- The average use (number of times per day) of a contact has dropped below 1.
Recent Contact Manager will only allow for the device to maintain a maximum of 250 contacts.
Single contacts in the Recent Contact Manager can be deleted by highlighting the name and hitting the delete key or clicking the menu button and choosing Delete.
You can also clear the entire list by clicking the menu button and choosing Clear List.
The Recent Contacts framework keeps all contacts that have been recently used within a persisted data structure in the software.
Recent Contact Manager listens for each new email sent to/from a device and it determines whether an email address has an entry within the Address Book. If the address has no corresponding Address Card, framework constructs a new Recent Contact model and adds it to the Recent Contact Collection.
When a user creates a new entry in the address book, the Recent Contacts framework is notified and the Recent Contact for that email address is removed from the collection.
The Recent Contact Manager scans the TO and CC fields of each email message received in any of the redirected folders on the BlackBerry smartphone.
