A Hotmail connector error appears when attempting to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook using the BlackBerry Desktop Software

When attempting to synchronize with the BlackBerry Desktop Software the following error message appears:

Unable to access local folder. If your Outlook profile uses the Hotmail connector, you must create a local data store (PST) and set it as the default delivery location for the profile


Synchronization with Microsoft Office Outlook Connector is not supported.

Microsoft Office Outlook Connector is an add-in feature for Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010. This feature allows the configuration of MSN Passport to connect to web-based email accounts, such as Windows Live Hotmail.


Contact Microsoft support for further assistance creating a local Outlook PST file that can be configured to synchronize with the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
