"App Error 104" is displayed on a BlackBerry smartphone

While using a BlackBerry smartphone the message App Error 104 is displayed intermittently. In some instances a hard reset is required to restore the BlackBerry smartphone to a functioning state.
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.

In some instances the following steps will prevent the error message from reoccurring

  1. Backup the BlackBerry smartphone using the BlackBerry Desktop Software KB12487
  2. Perform a security wipe on the BlackBerry smartphone KB14058
  3. Restore only important databases to the device by following KB10339
