After an upgrade BlackBerry App World will not start with the error "Uncaught exception:no application instance"

After an upgrade to the BlackBerry App World application on BlackBerry smartphones that have been activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server configured to use the BlackBerry Balance technology, BlackBerry App World will not start and will display the following error:

uncaught exception: no application instance

This issue has been resolved with the release of BlackBerry App World Upgrade to the latest available BlackBerry App World.
