  • BlackBerry 10

  • BlackBerry 10
CollapseOverview

When attempting to use certain media player applications, such as Windows Media Player, to play videos that have been recorded in portrait orientation, the video display will be black and only the audio will be played.

Videos shot in landscape orientation are not affected and play fine on the same media player application.

CollapseCause
As the height of the video image is longer than the width when the video is shot in portrait orientation, the media player application does not correctly interpret the video image and video is not displayed properly as a result.
CollapseResolution
There are a wide variety of media player applications available and most support the playing of portrait oriented videos that have a height that is greater than the width. Please use another media player application to view these videos.
