CollapseOverview
When powering off the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, the LCD screen will go blank, however, the smartphone has not completely shutdown. Additional time is required after the screen goes blank to allow a full power down before attempting to power the smartphone on again.
CollapseCause

After the LCD screen powers off, there are still background processes which need to be shut down. During this time, even though the LCD may not display information, the device is still working to shut down these processes.

CollapseResolution

Update to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.1 or higher if available.

CollapseWorkaround

Once the shutdown process has begun, the device should be left for 2 minutes to allow ample time for a complete shutdown.

CollapseAdditional Information
When turning off the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, the power button is held down for 4 seconds. During this time, a countdown timer will show the amount of time until the device beings to turn off.
