The touch screen on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone may fail to accept touch input. This can make the smartphone appear to be frozen. 

Update to the latest version of BlackBerry 10 OS using BlackBerry Link. See KB34364 for steps.

Remove and re-insert the battery in the smartphone.
