Duplicate Gmail Contacts appear on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone

In some cases users may experience duplicate Gmail Contacts when integrated via CardDAV on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
Upgrade the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone to BlackBerry 10 OS version or higher. Contact the wireless service provider to confirm availability.

To remove and re-add the Gmail Contacts on the smartphone, complete the following:

Remove Gmail Contacts:

  1. Swipe down from the top bezel.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Accounts.
  4. Select Gmail Contacts.
  5. Select Delete at the bottom.

Re-add Gmail Contacts:

  1. Select Add Account at bottom of the Accounts screen
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Scroll down and select CardDAV.
  4. Enter the Gmail email address as the Username.
  5. Type the Gmail email address as the Email Address.
  6. For Server Address type google.com
  7. Set the Sync Interval as needed.
  8. Tap Done.
