"Unable to complete update, please try again later. Unable to connect to payment service" appears when attempting to access Payment Options in BlackBerry World on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone

When accessing Payment Options in BlackBerry World on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone, the following error message appears:

Unable to complete update, please try again later.
Unable to connect to payment service.

This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. A resolution is currently unavailable.

CollapseWorkaround

Workaround 1

Initiate an application purchase within BlackBerry World. Once the BlackBerry ID has been verified, select the preferred Payment Options to complete the purchase of the application.

When the purchase is complete, the Payment Options setting can be accessed.

Workaround 2

Restart the BlackBerry 10 smartphone by pressing and holding the Power button and selecting Restart when prompted.

This issue typically coincides with first-time use of the BlackBerry ID on the BlackBerry smartphone, however this may not always be the case.

This issue does not impact the ability to complete an application purchase.
