Notification settings for BBM for iPhone, can be located in the Notification Center settings. These settings can be found by navigating to the home screen, opening Settings and tapping Notification Center.

To configure Notification Center settings:

  1. From the home screen, open Settings.
  2. Tap Notification Center > BBM.
  3. Choose from the the following options under Alert Style:
    • None
    • Banners
    • Alerts
Note: Regardless of the state of the BBM app (Foreground - BBM is running and is in-use / Background - BBM is running but not in-use) a push notification will be received if the Alert Style is set to Banners or Alerts.
  4. The following options can also be configured here:
    • Sounds: set to ON or OFF
    • Show in Notification Center: set to ON or OFF
    • Include (that is, 'Number of items included'): set to 1, 5, or 10
    • Show on Lock Screen: set to ON or OFF.

As well, a Badge (visual number count) is displayed on the top-right of the BBM for iPhone icon on the home screen which indicates how many messages have been received.

To configure the Badge App Icon Setting:

  1. From the home screen, open Settings.
