BlackBerry smartphone users are not able to log in to BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Sametime

BlackBerry smartphone users are not able to log in to BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Sametime.

This issue may occur when an organization adds a new BlackBerry Enterprise Server after the initial installation of BlackBerry Enterprise Server and IBM Lotus Sametime Server.

The sametime.log file shows an error similar to the following:

E Server 08/Jun/05, 16:28:32 Rejecting server component xx.xxx.xxx.xxx, not in trusted ips list

The BlackBerry Instant Messaging (BBIM) log file shows an error similar to the following:

<INFO >:<LAYER = BBIM, Sametime Connection logged out; REASON [ 8000021c]:

CollapseCause

The CommunityConnectivity document does not include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for all of the BlackBerry Enterprise Servers connected to the IBM Lotus Sametime Server.

CollapseResolution

Complete the following steps:

  1. On the IBM Lotus Sametime Server, double-click the CommunityConnectivity document.
  2. In the Community Trusted IPS field, type the IP address for each BlackBerry Enterprise Server connected to the IBM Lotus Sametime Server.
  3. Restart the BlackBerry Collaboration Service.
  4. Restart the IBM Lotus Sametime Server.

Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789.
