How to delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone

If the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service is corrupt on the BlackBerry smartphone, there may be issues sending and receiving email messages. To resolve this problem, delete the service book and send a new one for each associated email account.

To delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.

    Note: Depending on the theme on the BlackBerry smartphone, you may need to click Settings > Options.

  2. For BlackBerry Device Software 6.0, click Device > Advanced System Settings > Service Book. For BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 to 5.0, click Advanced OptionsService Book. For BlackBerry Device Software 4.0, click Service Book.
  3. Locate the service book associated with the BlackBerry Internet Service account.
    • The BlackBerry Internet Service service books are named after the associated email accounts (for example, <account name> [CMIME]).
  4. Click the service book and select Delete.
  5. When prompted to confirm, click Delete.
