- BlackBerry® Desktop Software 5.0
To turn on advanced logging for the Migration Wizard or Device Switch Wizard, complete the following tasks:
- Configure the iloptcfg.cfg file. For instructions, see the Configure the iloptcfg.cfg File section below.
- Run the Migration Wizard. For instructions, see KB04437.
Note: This task will generate the PTTrace.log and tif.log files.
- Collect and email the synchronization log files to your BlackBerry® Technical Support Services representative. For instructions, see the Email the Synchronization Log Files to your BlackBerry Technical Support Services representative section below.
Configure the iloptcfg.cfg File
Complete the following steps:
- Open the iloptcfg.cfg file in Microsoft® Notepad. The file is located in the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync
Note: This file only appears after the Migration Wizard or Device Switch Wizard has been run a least once.
- Change the MultiJobTraceLog value to 200 (the default is 1). This setting will generate the PTTrace.log file.
- Change the TifLog value to 100 (the default is 0). This setting will generate the tif.log file.
- Save and close the file.
- In the same folder, delete the PTTrace.log file and tif.log file. These are the old synchronization log files.
Note: With BlackBerry® Desktop Manager 4.5 to 6.0, the iloptcfg.cfg file may not exist. If this is the case, create a file called iloptcfg.cfg in the directory above and manually add "TifLog=100" and "MultiJobTraceLog=200" on separate lines.
Email the synchronization log files to your BlackBerry Technical Support Services representative
