No Enterprise Activation icon is present on the BlackBerry smartphone

The Enterprise Activation icon does not appear on the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone and Enterprise Activation is not found under Options.

Cause 1

The currently installed BlackBerry Device Software version is earlier than 4.0.

Resolution 1

Verify that the BlackBerry Device Software is version 4.0 or greater. If not, upgrade the BlackBerry Device Software to the latest available version. For instructions, see KB03621.

 
Cause 2

The Enterprise Activation icon is hidden.

Resolution 2

Confirm that the Enterprise Activation icon is not hidden. On the home screen, press the  Menu key and select Show All.

 
Cause 3

The BlackBerry smartphone is not registered on the wireless network.

Resolution 3

Ensure that the BlackBerry smartphone is registered on the wireless network by performing the following steps:

  1. Perform a hard reset of the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see KB02141.
  2. Perform a Register Now. For instructions, see KB00510.

 
Cause 4

The BlackBerry smartphone has already been activated.

Resolution 4

By default, after the BlackBerry smartphone is activated over the wireless network, the Enterprise Activation icon does not appear on the home screen.

  • Click the Options icon on the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone.
  • Select Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation and confirm whether an Enterprise Activation date exists.

 
Cause 5

The Service Book on the BlackBerry smartphone may contain incorrect data.

Resolution 5

Delete all Desktop service book records under Options > advanced options Service book, and re-send service books to the BlackBerry smartphone.

 
Cause 6

The BlackBerry smartphone does not have the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service class.

Resolution 6

Contact the wireless service provider for assistance.
