The BlackBerry smartphone user is receiving email messages with a subject line of Mobile Email from an unknown sender. The from short code displays 3020 and the body of the email message contains the following characters: mobileemailozmailci followed by a series of letters and numbers.
The BlackBerry smartphone user is using the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card in the BlackBerry smartphone from a mobile phone or device that had the Mobile Email application installed on it.
After transferring the SIM card to the BlackBerry smartphone, the BlackBerry smartphone user will begin to receive email messages that come from a short code of 3020 and a subject line of Mobile Email. The contents of the email message body contain the string OZMAIL.
These email messages are received because the BlackBerry smartphone does not support the Mobile Email application and cannot translate the email messages that were sent from Mobile Email. These email messages are directed to the SIM card.
To resolve this issue, complete one of the following resolutions.
Insert the SIM card back into the original mobile phone or device and remove the Mobile Email application. Once the Mobile Email application is removed, reinsert the SIM card into the BlackBerry smartphone.
If access to the original mobile phone or the Mobile Email service has been previously discontinued, and the issue persists, contact the wireless service provider from which the device was purchased for further assistance.
