How to change the active theme on the BlackBerry smartphone

To change the active theme on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

For BlackBerry Device Software 4.0 to 5.0:

  1. From the home screen, select Options.
  2. Select Theme.
  3. Highlight the desired theme from the list of available themes, and do one of the following:
    1. Click the BlackBerry menu key and choose Activate, or;
    2. Click on the theme, and select the Activate button.

For BlackBerry Device Software 6, BlackBerry 7, BlackBerry 7.1:

  1. From the home screen, select Options.
  2. Navigate to Display, and select Screen Display.
  3. Scroll down to the Theme section, and highlight the desired theme. Perform one of the following:
    1. Click the BlackBerry menu key and choose Activate, or;
    2. Click on the theme, and select the Activate button.

Return to the home screen, and you will see that the new theme has replaced the previous theme.

CollapseAdditional Information
Note: In some cases, changing the theme on the BlackBerry smartphone will cause all previous home screen settings such as icon locations, created folders, filed applications, etc. to be lost. The BlackBerry smartphone user may need to manually update their home screen once again to their preference.
