- BlackBerry Internet Service
The Send option is not available when trying to reply to an email message on a BlackBerry smartphone.
The [CMIME] service book for the affected email account is missing. To confirm the [CMIME] service book is missing on BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry 6 to BlackBerry 7.1, do the following:
- From the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options -> Device -> Advanced System Settings -> Service Book.
- Examine the list of service book entries for an entry titled <affected email address> [CMIME]. If no such entry exists, continue with the resolution.
To confirm the [CMIME] service book is missing on BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry® Device Software 4.2 to 5.0, do the following:
- From the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Service Book.
- Examine the list of service book entries for an entry titled <affected email address> [CMIME]. If no such entry exists, continue with the resolution.
Resend the service books for the account. Please refer to KB02830 for instructions to re-send the service books from the BlackBerry Internet Service. For sending issues with email accounts using BlackBerry Enterprise Server, see KB02567.
If the affected email account has been removed and reintegrated from a BlackBerry® Internet Service account, the BlackBerry smartphone will not have a Send option when attempting to reply to a message received prior to the email account removal.
To determine the version of BlackBerry Device Software on a BlackBerry smartphone, do the following:
- From the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options.
- If the option for About is available, select About. Otherwise, select Device -> About Device Versions.
- The third line down will display the BlackBerry Device Software version.
