BlackBerry Desktop Software includes the Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones tool.

Installing the Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones tool

Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones is automatically included when the BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed.

Note: The Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones is only installed if the language selected during the installation process is supported by the Roxio® Easy Media Creator 9 application. For information on supported languages, see KB12925.

Installing BlackBerry Desktop Software

To install BlackBerry Desktop Software, complete the following steps:

  1. If you are downloading and installing BlackBerry Desktop Software using the Internet, see KB12532. Otherwise, insert the BlackBerry User Tools CD into the CD drive of your computer.
    1. If your computer is not set to run CDs automatically, a dialog box appears. Double-click start.exe.
    2. If the Choose Setup Language dialog box appears, click a language. Click Begin.
    3. On the main menu, click BlackBerry Desktop Software.
  2. In the Setup Type screen, choose Typical Setup.
  3. Complete the instructions on the screen. Using this installation method, the Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones tool is installed automatically.

Installing BlackBerry Desktop Software without Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones

To install BlackBerry Desktop Software without Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Setup Type screen, choose Custom Setup.
  2. On the Custom Setup screen, choose Next.
  3. Clear the Roxio Media Manager check box.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Continue completing the instructions on the screen to install BlackBerry Desktop Software without Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones.

Removing Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones

Note: If Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones is removed, the Media Manager icon does not appear in the BlackBerry Desktop Software window.

To remove Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones, complete the following steps:

  1. Do one of the following:
    1. Rerun the BlackBerry Desktop Software installer program.
    2. On the taskbar, click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. From the program list, select BlackBerry Desktop Software.
  2. In the InstallShield Wizard window, select Modify.
  3. In the Custom Setup dialog box, under BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click Next.
  4. On the Media Options Page, clear the Roxio Media Manager check box.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Continue completing the instructions on the screen to remove Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry smartphones.
