- BlackBerry® Internet Service
- Windows Live™ Hotmail®
- MSN®
- Bell® Sympatico
If adding a Windows Live™ email address, such as, Windows Live™ Hotmail®, MSN®, or Bell Sympatico®, to a BlackBerry device, Microsoft® Corporation requires validation of the email address once every 360 days.
Three days before validation of the email address is required, the BlackBerry® Internet Service sends a notification message containing instructions on how to validate the Windows Live email address. If the email address is not validated, a second notification is sent one day before the email address becomes invalid. If the Windows Live email address is not validated by the re-validation date, the BlackBerry Internet Service is not able to access the email account and, email message delivery to the email address on the BlackBerry smartphone will stop. The ability to send email messages from that email address on the device will cease as well.
To validate a Windows Live email address, from the BlackBerry device:
- Do one of the following:
- On the Home screen, click the Setup icon and click Email Accounts.
- On the Home screen or in the Setup folder, click Email Settings or Email Setup.
- Click <emailAddress> and then click Edit, or click Edit below the address.
- Type the password for <emailAddress> and save.
The integrated email address has not been authenticated within the required 360-day time frame.
Integrated email addresses can be re-validated using the BlackBerry smartphone or a computer.
