- BlackBerry® Desktop Manager 4.3 to 5.0.1
- BlackBerry® Desktop Software 6.0 to 6.1
- BlackBerry® smartphone
When attempting a wired synchronization of the BlackBerry® smartphone calendar entries with Microsoft® Outlook®, the following error message is displayed:
Error Encountered 0x8004FD2B, Check Documentation
Changes or deletions made in the Microsoft Outlook calendar are not synchronized with the BlackBerry smartphone calendar.
BlackBerry Desktop Manager views the calendar entries as invalid entries, which results in an error.
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:
Select the Reset configuration button on the Configuration tab within the Synchronize tool.
Locate and remove the invalid calendar entries from the BlackBerry smartphone, and then add the calendar entries again.
Note: If changes were applied during the synchronization process, the invalid calendar entries from both the Microsoft Outlook calendar and the BlackBerry smartphone calendar should be deleted before adding the entries again. For further assistance with identifying possible corrupt entries, enable advanced logging. For instructions on enabling advanced logging, see KB01451 .
In the event that the previous device is available and/or a backup of the previous device is available, as a possible workaround the following may be attempted:
- Use the Calendar database from the previous backup file and restore the Calendar database to the new device.
- After restoring the Calendar database, perform the synchronization using the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
