How to set up a BlackBerry Internet Service email address from the BlackBerry smartphone

For BlackBerry® 6 and BlackBerry® 7:

  1. From the Home Screen of the BlackBerry® smartphone, click Setup.
  2. Click Email Accounts.
  3. Choose Internet Mail Account if prompted.
  4. Login to the BlackBerry® Internet Service account if prompted. If the username or password are unknown, please see article KB11261.
  5. Choose the type of email account that is being integrated.
  6. Type the required information in the Email Address and Password fields.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Select one of the following options to integrate this email account:
    • POP/IMAP
    • Outlook Web Access (Exchange)
  9. For POP/IMAP, type the information required for the following items:
    • Email address
    • Password
    • Email Server
    • User name
  10. For Outlook Web Access (Exchange), type the information required for the following items.
    • Email address
    • Password
    • Outlook access web address (e.g. http://exchange.domainname.com/exchange)
    • Username
    • Mailbox name
  11. Once the details for the email account have been entered, click Continue.

For BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0 and lower:

  1. From the home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Setup Internet E-mail.
  2. Click E-mail Accounts.
  3. Click Add an e-mail account.
  4. Type the required information in the Email address and Password fields.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select one of the following options to access this email account:
    • I will provide the settings to add this email account
    • I have this email account set up in Outlook® or Outlook Express®
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Provide The Settings.
  9. Type the information required for the following items:
    • Email address
    • Username
    • Password
    • Email server
  10. If the option I have this email account set up in Outlook or Outlook Express in step 6 is selected, a pop up window requests information on accessing the specified email using Microsoft Outlook Web Access. Click Next and then provide the following settings:
    • Outlook access web address (e.g. http://exchange.domainname.com/exchange)
    • Username
    • Password
    • Email address
    • Mailbox name
