An administrative account can be created and defined to control who can perform specific tasks in BlackBerry MVS Server.
An administrative role must be created before an administrator account can be made. Each role consists of a set of permissions. The permissions define the information that administrators can view and the tasks that they can perform. Administrator accounts can be assigned various roles.
Multiple administrator accounts can be created. For example, if there are multiple types of administrators for a company, there can be junior administrators and help desk administrators.
Create an administrative role
Administrative roles determine the permissions for each administrator account. To create an administrative role, complete the following steps:
- In the left pane of the BlackBerry MVS Console, click Administrator Roles.
- Click Add a new Administrator Role.
- In the Role Name field, type a name for the administrative role.
- Configure the settings for the administrative role.
- Click Submit.
Change an administrative role
To change an administrative role, complete the following steps:
- In the left pane of the BlackBerry MVS Console, click Administrator Roles.
- Click an administrative role.
- Change the settings for the administrative role.
- Click Submit.
Delete an administrative role
You can delete an administrative role when your organization no longer requires it. You cannot delete an administrative role that is assigned to an administrator account. To delete an administrative role, complete the following steps:
- In the left pane of the BlackBerry MVS Console, click Administrator Roles.
- Beside the administrative role, click Delete.
- Click OK.
Create an administrator account
You can create an administrator account when you want to assign administrative permissions to another individual in your organization. To create an administrator account, complete the following steps:
- In the left pane of the BlackBerry MVS Console, click Administrators.
- Click Add a new Administrator.
- Configure the settings for the administrator account.
- Click Submit.
Change an administrator role
To change an administrator role, complete the following steps:
- In the left pane of the BlackBerry MVS Console, click Administrator Roles.
- Click an administrator role.
- Change the settings for the administrator role.
- Click Submit.
Delete an administrator account
You can delete an administrator account when you organization no longer requires it. To delete and administrator account, complete the following steps:
- In the left pane of the BlackBerry MVS Console, click Administrators.
- Beside the administrator account, click Delete.
- Click OK.
