BlackBerry® Messenger 5.0
When installing BlackBerry® Messenger 5.0, installation competes successfully, but no BlackBerry Messenger icon can be seen on the BlackBerry smartphone. No error message was displayed, feedback message states, "application was installed successfully".
To resolve this issue uninstall the BlackBerry Messenger application from the Application section in the Settings of the BlackBerry smartphone.
Re-download and reinstall the application from BlackBerry App World™ web site.
Reinstall the application from the Application Loader > Add/Remove Applications section of the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.
Update the BlackBerry® Device Software using the Application Loader > Update Software section of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Reinstall the BlackBerry Device Software.
To work around this issue, complete one of the following tasks:
Ensure the application icon was not placed in a desktop folder, such as Instant Messaging or Downloads or any folders.
Restart the BlackBerry smartphone. You may do this by removing the battery and reinserting it.
Verify that the BlackBerry smartphone is running officially released BlackBerry Device Software. To verify what version of BlackBerry Device Software you are running, on the BlackBerry smartphone go to Options > About.
