When a new bundle of software is applied to the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System 4.6 for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1 server, the administrator of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server updates the software push configuration with the new client. This sends the updated client down to all associated BlackBerry smartphone users, and multiple versions of MVS__client x.x.x.x appear in the Applications list.

The issue could be related to one of the following causes:

  1. Since the BlackBerry MVS Client is a RIM-signed application, it cannot be removed from the BlackBerry smartphone.
  2. A change was made to the name of the .cod files of the application that makes each version of the BlackBerry MVS Client different from the previous one.
  3. The BlackBerry smartphone user has installed the wrong BlackBerry MVS Client and a copy of the correct BlackBerry MVS Client was sent to it over the wireless network.

For BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Options > Application.
  2. Change the drop-down list in the top right corner to Add-On.
  3. Find the MVS_Client applications.
  4. Highlight the oldest version.
  5. Press the Menu key.
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Select Yes.
  8. If prompted, reset the BlackBerry smartphone.

For BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 4.7.X and earlier, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications.
  2. Find the MVS_Client applications.
  3. Highlight the oldest version.
  4. Press the Menu key.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. If prompted, reset the BlackBerry smartphone.
