In BlackBerry Traffic, the address is pointing to the wrong location or it cannot be found

Article ID: KB20617

Type: Support Content

Last Modified: 12-14-2011

Product(s) Affected:

  • BlackBerry Traffic for BlackBerry smartphones
CollapseEnvironment
  • BlackBerry® Traffic
  • BlackBerry smartphones
CollapseOverview

While searching and entering an address in BlackBerry Traffic, the address cannot be found. Instead, another address, near to the address entered, is suggested. Repeated attempts to locate the same address result in identical results.

CollapseCause

The source data that BlackBerry Traffic uses to map and locate addresses currently does not have the requested location in the database. As a result, BlackBerry Traffic finds a similar address, close to the address that was searched for, and suggests it.

CollapseWorkaround

To save a location that is not located by BlackBerry Traffic, while physically at the desired location, save the current location to My Places.

To save the current location to My Places,

  1. Select My Places from the main menu
  2. Select Add Place...
  3. Select Current Location
  4. Enter a name for the location and click Save

Note: In order for Current Location to appear as an option under Add Place..., a GPS connection must be established. Please see KB20615 - Can’t select Current Location when adding a new Place in BlackBerry Traffic for more information.
